As a medicinal chemist at our Copenhagen, Denmark location, you will be part of our newly established team contributing to the discovery and development of innovative therapeutics.

Reporting directly to the VP of Medicinal Chemistry and Portfolio Management, you will have a key role in leading the design and synthesis of macrocycle projects, establishing workflows, and driving cross-functional collaborations. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing in vitro / ex vivo assays to characterize the function and potency of potential drug candidates
  • Planning and conducting assays in primary cells and cell lines, analyzing cellular responses with a broad array of techniques
  • Identifying and implementing new technologies, assay platforms, and experimental methods in collaboration with colleagues
  • Leading in vitro pharmacology efforts within projects to reach go/no-go decisions, contributing to an understanding of disease mechanisms, cellular biology, and guidance on overall translation
  • Providing scientific input on project biomarker strategies, overseeing assay development, and execution in collaboration with expert CROs

We seek a candidate with a Ph.D. in biology, biomedicine, or a related field, and at least 5 years of industry experience in Pharma/Biotech. You should have extensive hands-on expertise in mammalian cell culture, including primary immune cells and PBMCs, proven experience in assay development, troubleshooting, and optimization using various types of assay technologies.

Broad expertise in immunology and diseases driven by inflammatory processes is essential, along with a keen interest in lab-based work, a positive and solution-focused mindset, and excellent communication skills. A proactive and flexible team player with strong collaboration skills, self-leadership, and the ability to manage multiple tasks of varying complexity is required.
