The Center for Chromosome Stability (CCS) is a leading research institution focused on understanding how chromosomal instability causes human disease. We are seeking an expert in human chromosome analysis to join our team as a Researcher in Chromosome Biology.
As a member of the CCS, you will have the opportunity to work with a world-class team of scientists and researchers who are dedicated to advancing our knowledge of chromosome biology. You will be responsible for analyzing the mechanical properties of native human chromosomes using optical tweezers and investigating the effects of manipulating enzymes that alter the mechanical properties of chromosomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze the mechanical properties of native human chromosomes using optical tweezers
- Investigate the effects of manipulating enzymes that alter the mechanical properties of chromosomes
- Collaborate with other researchers to advance our understanding of chromosome biology
Requirements:
- A PhD degree in biochemistry, cell biology, biophysics, protein chemistry or a related discipline
- Extensive postdoctoral experience
- Significant expertise in two or more of the following techniques: optical manipulation of chromosomes, advanced imaging or protein degron analysis in human cells
