We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our PSQIT BI & Analytics Team in Finance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the development and professionalisation of our data foundation. Your expertise will play a crucial role in establishing new ways of working and best practices with support and involvement from the rest of the team.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate data workflows.
  • Utilizing Databricks to build scalable data solutions and optimize performance.
  • Ensuring data quality, integrity, and security across all data engineering processes.
  • Establishing and promoting best practices for version control using git.
  • Collaborating with finance teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
  • Mentoring and guiding data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the team.

To thrive in this role, you will need to have:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, complemented by a minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Extensive experience with git and managing version control in a collaborative environment.
  • Proven track record of implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency with Databricks and its ecosystem.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and technologies.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Domain leadership experience, i.e., the capability to mentor and guide team members.
  • Fluency in English.

It is advantageous if you have experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), Fabric (particularly PowerBI), and no-code, low-code tools like Alteryx.
