We are seeking an intern to support our team in Copenhagen, Denmark. As a Green Energy Support Intern, you will work on various projects related to green energy solutions, data collection, business case drafting, and technical assistance to UNDP Country Offices.

Job Description
This internship aims to enhance the academic life experience of passionate students as interns and empower them to become socially responsible, innovative, and environmentally conscious leaders of tomorrow. We bridge the gap between academic learning and real-time industry experience by taking interns behind the scenes of the world's leading clean energy and sustainability initiatives. By being part of our dynamic unit, you will also have an opportunity to establish worldwide connections with other top-talented interns and UN staff from other agencies.
As a Green Energy Support Intern, your responsibilities will include:
- Actively participating in the collection of data and information related to green energy solutions in Country Offices;
- Drafting business cases for renewable energy solutions which include mainly hybrid solar PV systems, energy efficiency, and e-mobility;
- Supporting in the provision of guidance and remote technical assistance on energy efficiency solutions to Country Offices;
- Assisting in the installation of IoT (internet of things) energy sensors for assigned projects across the organization;
- Supporting the team in procuring green energy solution equipment, including market research, compilation of solicitation documents, and technical evaluation of proposals from bidders;
- Supporting in daily monitoring and operations (O&M) of installed solar PV and e-mobility systems across the organization;
- Playing the role of rapporteur in both internal and external meetings as may be assigned by the supervisor;
- Contributing to the unit's documentation to support continuous improvement of processes, procedures, and templates;
- Assisting the project manager during remote management of installation of renewable energy solutions (solar hybrid systems and e-mobility) in various locations worldwide.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To qualify for this internship, you must meet one of the following requirements: Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme, be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme, have recently graduated with a university degree, or be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program. In addition, you must possess a strong interest and understanding of renewable energy engineering and sustainable development-oriented areas of work. Technical knowledge of main renewable energy technologies is a strong advantage, as is experience/knowledge in sizing hybrid PV systems (with diesel generator), energy efficiency, and/or electric vehicles. Knowledge of software tools for hybrid renewable energy systems and proficient use of Microsoft Office productivity tools are required. Familiarity with SharePoint, HOMER, and PV*Sol is an advantage. Demonstrated experience presenting work to both technical and non-technical audiences is beneficial. Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory, while knowledge of any other UN languages is an asset.
