Postdoctoral Positions in Genomics and Obesity Research
2 weeks ago
The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) is a leading academic research center dedicated to pioneering groundbreaking research to improve cardiometabolic health. Our mission is to transform the basic understanding of cardiometabolic health and accelerate its translation into prevention and treatment strategies.
Our Approach
We employ a uniquely multi- and interdisciplinary approach, combining research in genetics, physiology, and pharmacology to better understand the complex interplay of factors that drive cardiometabolic disease. This collaborative, interdisciplinary research ranges from single-cell genomics to whole-body systems.
Research Focus
The Loos Group aims to identify the genetic and molecular determinants of body weight regulation, providing insights into the deeper biological mechanisms underlying obesity and metabolism. We strive to improve prediction, prevention, and treatment through the implementation of precision health strategies.
Your Role
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will have the opportunity to take a leading role in research projects aimed at understanding the molecular and genetic basis of cardiometabolic disease. You will work closely with our team to develop refined phenotypes, identify genetic variants and protein biomarkers, and analyze real-time data related to cardiometabolic health.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have a PhD in (genetic/molecular) epidemiology, statistical genetics, statistics, computational biology, machine learning, or a related field. You will also have a strong computation background, expertise in dealing with large datasets, and experience with gene-discovery approaches. Additionally, you should have excellent English communication skills and the ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
Benefits
The position offers a competitive salary, pension, and other benefits. As a researcher at KU-SUND-Metabolismecentret, you will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, opportunities for professional development, and a dynamic and international research environment.
