In Vitro Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Scientist to join our Metabolism Biology department in Måløv, Denmark. As an Associate Scientist, you will play a key role in supporting our early research pipeline in Metabolic Disease Research II.
Key Responsibilities- Design, troubleshoot, and carry out experiments based on knowledge from the literature and collaborate with our scientists to deliver high-quality data and results.
- Handle primary cells and cell lines, and be part of setting up advanced human cell-based functional assays, including micro-physiological systems, to support phenotyping and validation of new drug candidates.
- Maintain laboratory supplies and operations, and keep accurate and detailed records of experimental work and data.
- Work collaboratively with different stakeholders in a matrix organisation.
- A master's degree in life sciences (human biology, biochemistry, biomedicine, biotechnology, or similar) or a bachelor's degree in a similar field and several years of relevant experience.
- Solid hands-on experience with cell cultures, preferably primary hepatocytes.
- Experience in methods such as RNA isolation, qPCR, and ELISA.
- Experience in establishing advanced in vitro models, such as co-culture systems, organoids, or organ-on-a-chip technology, is considered an advantage.
- Preferably skilled in programs such as Excel and Prism.
- Knowledge on liver biology is an advantage.
The Metabolism Biology department is part of the Metabolic Disease Research II area, with a primary focus on establishing new cellular in vitro models to elucidate mode-of-action and profiling of novel biology and molecules for early evaluation of new drug candidates.
