The RoleAs a Senior Backend Developer at Kanpla, you'll be the driving force behind our API architecture. You'll set the vision for designing, documenting, versioning, and maintaining APIs, creating a solid foundation for our backend ecosystem.
We're looking for an experienced developer who will establish best practices, ensure APIs are both secure and scalable, and mentor team members to raise the bar across the board.
Your work will directly influence user experiences, partner integrations, and the reliability of a system used by a rapidly expanding community.

Key Responsibilities- Define and implement a forward-looking API strategy that covers documentation and versioning, monitoring, testing, and deprecation.
- Design and develop robust backend infrastructure supporting a wide range of product features and third-party integrations.
- Ensure every API endpoint is built with security top-of-mind and optimized for speed and reliability.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and other backend engineers to build cohesive, end-to-end solutions.
- Empower partners with tools, knowledge, and guidance for successful integration.
- Extensive API experience with a proven track record of architecting and managing scalable, well-documented APIs.
- Technical depth in JavaScript/TypeScript and strong experience with Node.js, Express, or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with the full API lifecycle – documentation, versioning, deprecation, monitoring, and testing.
- Expertise in securely integrating and managing external APIs and platforms.
- Experience deploying on cloud platforms and optimizing relational and non-relational databases (Vercel, Google Cloud, Firestore).
