We are seeking a highly skilled Master Glass Artisan - Research and Development to join our team at the Department of Chemistry, Aarhus University.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic research environment, where you will be responsible for designing, developing, and producing custom-made glass apparatus for our research groups and laboratory teaching facilities.
Your primary duties will include:
- Designing and creating new glassware prototypes in collaboration with our research teams;
- Maintaining and repairing existing glass equipment in our laboratories;
- Contributing to various tasks related to the department, utilizing your skills and expertise.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a solid background as a technical/scientific glassblower, preferably with experience from academia or industry. You should be experienced in both manual and mechanical glass processing.
You will work closely with scientific and technical staff to develop new glass apparatus, following projects from idea to implementation. Your ability to understand the needs and requirements of our researchers and develop effective solutions will be essential.
In addition to this, you will also conduct daily maintenance and repair of existing glass equipment, interacting with students and staff from various fields of research.

The workshops at the Department of Chemistry form a well-established team that employs four staff members and a trainee within mechanical and electrical engineering, as well as the technical/scientific glassblower. Our new colleague will be the only glassblower in the team.
We offer a competitive salary, estimated at approximately **€55,000-65,000** per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
