Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Sanctions Expert to join our Group Financial Crime Compliance (GFCC) Sanctions team at Nordea Bank Norge ASA.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with expertise in sanctions risk management and regulatory compliance. As a Sanctions Expert, you will be responsible for advising and guiding business operations on sanctions-related issues, conducting case-by-case assessments of matters escalated by the business, and supporting the development of Nordea's financial crime strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a subject matter expert on sanctions risk management in financial institutions, including EU, UN, US, and UK sanctions regulations.
  • Conduct case-by-case assessments of matters escalated by the business in relation to their customers/clients.
  • Support and advise on breaches of policy and/or regulation.
  • Help set Nordea's financial crime strategy and related policy on sanctions and contribute to strategic initiatives and trainings.
Your Background and Skills
  • An academic degree in a relevant field, such as Law, Political Science, International Affairs, Economics, or Business.
  • Familiarity with the EU, US, or UK regulatory environment and expectations of sanctions enforcement authorities.
  • Experience working with sanctions risk management and sanctions regulations.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
What We Offer

Nordea offers a competitive salary range of approximately $80,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience, along with a dynamic work environment that fosters growth and development.
