About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join our team at Xero. As an Analytics Engineer, you will play a key role in revolutionizing our data systems, turning raw information into transformative insights that drive innovation and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, set up, and maintain technical data infrastructure to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility.
  • Develop production-ready, scalable data pipelines and lead the life cycle of data-related backend services to increase efficiency in data processing.
  • Create and manage data models to transform raw data into valuable assets, ensuring data accuracy, quality, and lineage.
  • Utilize Python and SQL for data manipulation, activation, and cleaning to deliver accurate and reliable data models.
  • Apply statistical analysis techniques and basic machine learning concepts to explore predictive modeling techniques and uncover new opportunities and insights.
Requirements
  • At least three years of experience in software engineering or a technical analytical role.
  • Ability to design and build data processing, storage, and activation systems based on set requirements.
  • Experience with SQL for data modeling and analysis, and Python for building data pipelines and statistical analyses.
  • Experience with dbt, GitHub, and data lakehouse solutions (ideally Snowflake).
  • Able to drive software engineering best practices and execute data wrangling and cleaning processes efficiently.
  • Ability to activate datasets and insights through reverse ETL jobs to different systems.
