Job OverviewWe're seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer to lead the implementation of our bioCCU technology at our first-of-a-kind commercial plant. You'll develop and integrate a Distributed Control System (DCS) connecting bioreactors and process sub-units, ensuring seamless operation and scale-up of our CO2 conversion technology.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement DCS architecture and control specifications, ensuring process security, data management, and system robustness.
- Collaborate with process engineering and operations teams to capture operational philosophy and develop control specifications, including cause and effect matrices.
- Engage with vendors to ensure equipment compatibility with the overall control philosophy, managing control system integration across all units.
- Oversee factory acceptance tests, site acceptance tests, commissioning, and startup activities, including alarm setting and management.
- Assist with procedure development, especially for potential safety instrumented systems.
- Help lead IT architecture development for the industrial site, ensuring data security and facilitating remote monitoring.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure, control systems, and process automation development, specifically on major DCS platforms.
- Strong technical skills in automation and ability to develop tools and processes for automation engineering.
- Expertise in industrial control systems, risk management, process improvement, and project management.
- Ability to take immediate ownership of ongoing control system development, with strong vendor management and oversight skills.
- Unconventional thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle complex challenges.
- Availability for frequent travel to the US in the coming year.
