Job Description
The Cyber Security Engineer role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining our Security Operations Centre (SOC) infrastructure and platform. This includes working closely with the team to leverage the platform to build an effective SOC that detects, analyzes, and responds to cybersecurity events. Some key tasks include:
  1. SOC Development: Developing and enhancing our Security Operations Center (SOC)
  2. Network Security Monitoring: Maintaining, implementing, and developing solutions for monitoring networks to identify security threats
  3. Threat Detection & Incident Response: Implementing robust monitoring and alerting mechanisms to detect and respond to security incidents promptly
  4. Log Management & Analysis: Configuring and managing log collection, aggregation, and analysis pipelines
  5. SIEM/SOAR: Maintaining and updating the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution
  6. Security Data Enrichment: Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enrich security data sources and integrate threat intelligence feeds
  7. Security Automation: Developing scripts and automation workflows to streamline SOC processes
  8. Documentation & Training: Documenting SOC processes, procedures, and playbooks, and training SOC analysts on tool usage and best practices

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have some technical knowledge and a desire to constantly improve your skills. Familiarity with LINUX and networking, as well as scripting skills (Ansible, Python, Bash, or similar) for automation, are also highly valued. Additionally, knowledge of threat intelligence feeds, log monitoring, and security data enrichment is considered a merit.
