Job Overview

Københavns Universitet (KU) is seeking a highly skilled Mathematical Modeling and Statistics Expert to join our team in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. As a PhD stipend holder, you will have the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in applied mathematics, including statistics and the mathematics of insurance and economics.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing mathematical models to analyze complex data sets and solve real-world problems in the fields of insurance and economics. You will work closely with our experienced research team to design and execute experiments, collect and analyze data, and interpret results.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement mathematical models to analyze complex data sets and solve real-world problems
  • Analyze and interpret large datasets using statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms
  • Develop and test new statistical methods and techniques for data analysis
  • Publish research findings in top-tier academic journals
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement new research projects
  • Teach and mentor students on statistical modeling and data analysis techniques

Requirements

  • PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Strong background in mathematical modeling, statistics, and data analysis
  • Excellent programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB
  • Experience with machine learning algorithms and deep learning techniques
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
