Kongens Lyngby, Lyngby-Tårbæk Kommune, Denmark Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) Full time

At the Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at DTU, we are seeking a PhD researcher to investigate the effects of impurities on corrosion in CO2 transportation. The project MISSION-CCS aims to accelerate the implementation of carbon capture and storage technologies worldwide.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering or a related field, with experience in experimental measurement and analysis. Knowledge of thermodynamics and phase equilibrium is an advantage. The candidate will be part of a Horizon Europe MSCA Doctoral Networks Programme, which includes secondments to consortium partners in the UK and Norway.

The position involves investigating the impact of small impurities on the transportation system, including water content, amine impurities, nitrosamines, and residual gas content. The goal is to expand knowledge of impurities during transportation and qualify materials used for CO2 transport.

The ideal candidate should have a two-year master's degree in chemical engineering, applied chemistry, or a related discipline. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. For applicants, it is mandatory that they hold an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree.
