We're a team of passionate scientists working on challenging and meaningful projects to reduce CO2 emissions. Our mission is to turn carbon outputs from industrial emitters into valuable, emission-free green-chemicals.
Our novel fermentation-based bio-manufacturing technology involves fermenting CO2 into carbon-negative chemicals. For every tonne of products we make, over 2 tonnes of carbon are removed from the atmosphere.
The Role
- We're looking for a Lead Downstream Process Engineer to spearhead the development and implementation of new and existing downstream processes for our technology at pilot and commercial scales.
- You'll work closely with our process engineering team to design, optimize, and scale-up downstream processes for acetic acid production.
- Your responsibilities will include process design and optimization, scale-up and technology transfer, and quality control and assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize processes for the efficient separation and purification of acetic acid from fermentation broth.
- Lead the scale-up of downstream processes from pilot to full-scale production, collaborating with external partners as needed.
- Evaluate and implement innovative techniques to enhance yield and purity, ensuring the downstream process meets industry standards.
Requirements
- Practical experience in downstream process engineering, especially in drafting ideas, formalizing design, and commissioning biotechnological equipment.
- Collaborative and communicative skills, with ability to work closely with suppliers, scientific teams, and management.
- Creative problem-solving skills and ability to wrangle chaos into clear workflows and documentation.
