AWS Migration Engineer

A large enterprise in the energy sector is carrying out a major cloud transformation, migrating more than 300 applications from on-premise and Azure environments into AWS. To support this initiative, we are looking for an experienced AWS engineer with a strong background in cloud migration, infrastructure design and DevOps automation.

The role will join a dedicated migration team working with AWS services such as EC2, EKS, RDS, CloudWatch, and third-party tooling including Terraform, GitHub Actions and Confluent Kafka. The work is carried out in a fully Agile setup in close collaboration with product teams and cloud platform teams.

Key Responsibilities

Migration Execution and Cloud Architecture


• Apply standardized AWS patterns and solutions across all migration activities


• Drive rehosting and replatforming of applications and databases


• Analyse and resolve technical gaps in collaboration with internal cloud engineering teams


• Design scalable, secure and cost-efficient AWS architectures

DevOps & Infrastructure Automation


• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions


• Develop and update Terraform modules for infrastructure provisioning


• Implement monitoring, logging and alerting for production workloads

Security & Compliance


• Ensure alignment with internal cloud security frameworks and architectural standards


• Apply AWS best practices for identity, networking, observability and workload hardening

Collaboration


• Work closely with cloud platform teams, architects and security to ensure a consistent migration approach


• Support product teams during migration execution and post-migration stabilization

Required Experience


• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services: EC2, EKS, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM


• Solid background in cloud migration activities (rehost/replatform)


• Experience with AWS migration tools (DataSync, DMS, SCT)


• Strong skills in Infrastructure-as-Code, especially Terraform


• Experience implementing CI/CD with GitHub Actions or similar tooling


• Strong troubleshooting capability across networking, connectivity, IAM, storage and databases


• Experience with monitoring and logging in large-scale cloud environments


• Ability to optimize AWS workloads for cost, performance and security

Preferred Qualifications


• AWS Solutions Architect certification (Associate or Professional)


• Experience with Azure and multi-cloud migration scenarios


• Knowledge of distributed systems, serverless architectures and cloud security controls
