Senior biostatistician to CHIP – Centre of Excellence for Health, Immunity and Infections - Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen
We are looking for a full-time senior biostatistician for a position at CHIP - an academic research Centre of Excellence with offices at Rigshospitalet – starting 1 January 2026. We offer a challenging and meaningful position in an exciting and inspiring international research environment.
About us
Centre of Excellence for Health, Immunity and Infectious (CHIP) is an international academic research center at Rigshospitalet. We are a dynamic multidisciplinary group working within medical research, public health research, IT and data management, statistics and bioinformatics, clinical trials and research administration. CHIP is a leader in the field of developing and coordinating international clinical trials and international observational cohort studies involving participants with HIV and other infectious diseases such as hepatitis and tuberculosis.

The tasks
You will be responsible for biostatistical analyses and are expected to both design and lead your own research studies within CHIPs framework as well as support other researchers in biostatistical analyses of data from large, complex clinic-based data sets. You will need to have a passion for medical research and will be a central driver in the research activities of CHIP. You will be required to coordinate statistical analyses in close collaboration with biostatistics colleagues and will work closely together with other researchers at CHIP as well as collaborative organizations. You will lead and support the writing of papers and present findings based on original research for peer-review journals. In addition, teaching and training activities will be part of the position, both at post and pre graduate level. Also, you will have a crucial role with regard to funding initiatives and be a primary driver of funding applications.
Qualification requirements
The candidate is expected to hold a PhD in medical statistics or be able to demonstrate capability for analyzing large complex data sets independently. In addition we expect that you have
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in statistical analysis and interpretation of data from large, complex clinic based data sets
- Documented ability to design, implement and lead statistical analyses in research studies
- Relevant publications in peer reviewed journals, including first authorships
- Experience of supervision of clinicians, statisticians or junior researchers on individual research projects and/or to MSc/PhD level
- Mentoring or teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels and other forms of public presentation
- Ability to communicate statistical concepts effectively to those with only minimal statistical knowledge
- Thorough knowledge of the statistical package SAS, or willingness to learn SAS, or significant skills in other statistical software packages
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a number of concurrent projects
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and collaborate with clinical researchers and basic scientists both locally and internationally
- Excellent at time management and working to deadlines
- Highly self-motivated and hard working
- Commitment to continuous professional development
