Assignment description

We are looking for a Release Manager for our client the Telecom Industry

Purpose

The Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the movement of releases from development through testing and into production. The role ensures that releases are delivered on time, within scope, and with minimal disruption to testing and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and manage the release management process across the program together with HPE, CSG, NoA, Duka, Greenspeak og TI.
  • Create and maintain the release calendar in coordination with the release managers, project managers and test managers.
  • Coordinate release activities across multiple teams, vendors, and environments (Dev, INT3, SIT, STG, Pre-PROD, PROD etc).
  • Ensure build, integration, and deployment processes are executed by the vendors as agreed and following standards.
  • Validate that release packages include all required components (code, configurations, data, documentation).
  • Facilitate go/no-go meetings and obtain approvals from stakeholders.
  • Monitor release progress, identify risks, and drive resolution of release-related issues.
  • Ensure rollback and recovery procedures are defined and tested.
  • Provide clear communication to stakeholders about release scope, status, risks, and outcomes.
  • Support post-release validation and reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in release or deployment management in large IT programs.
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing cycles.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools, version control, and automated deployment practices.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Release and Deployment Management processes.
  • Experience with multi-vendor, multi-platform environments.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
