Senior Automation Application Engineer (m/f/d)
to strengthen our product development team and shape the future of maritime automation.

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated engineer with a passion for smart technologies and sustainable innovation. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of advanced maritime automation solutions, including engine control and power management systems. You will collaborate directly with customers (shipyards, naval entities, owners) and with vendors of interfacing systems (engine manufacturers, power generation, etc.), ensuring that solutions are reliable, efficient, and user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop maritime automation solutions, including
    engine control and power management
  • Ensure effective and user-focused
    Human Machine Interface (HMI)
    design and interaction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers to define requirements and deliver solutions
  • Implement, optimize, and maintain automation frameworks, tools, and processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within automation systems, ensuring high reliability and performance
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior engineers
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, standards, and new technologies in automation engineering
  • Cooperate internationally with development teams, vendors, and stakeholders

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, ideally with maritime systems
  • Proficiency in programming (e.g., Python, Java, C#) and experience with automation tools/frameworks (IEC, Selenium, Jenkins, Ansible)
  • Solid understanding of HMI design, networks, and system integration
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; fluent in written and spoken English
  • Preferred: experience with cloud-based tools (Azure), maritime/class certifications, and DevOps practices
