Role overview:

The Physical Commodities Quantitative Development Intern will be expected to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and contribute meaningfully to team's performance. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, focusing on building tools that support physical commodities trading activities. You will collaborate with experienced investment professionals to develop and implement quantitative models and software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of quantitative tools and models to support the physical commodities investment team
  • Collaborate with traders, analysts, and other team members to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
  • Develop, maintain and scale tools and applications using python
  • Conduct data analysis and visualizations to support model development and trading processes
  • Document code, processes, and methodologies to facilitate knowledge sharing and future development
  • Build data visualizations and dashboards

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics or any other STEM related field
  • BAM will only consider student candidates with graduation dates between Winter 2026 and Spring 2027
  • Strong programming skills in Python in the context of data analysis, with the ability to test ideas and models
  • Familiarity and experience with data analysis and visualization tools and libraries
  • Strong passion and interest in career in trading, analytics, or energy
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, strong work ethics and a proactive attitude
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
