The job position

With a strong ambition to further accelerate our profitable growth we are now looking for an Underwriter to join our Life Science underwriting team in Copenhagen.

In the Life Science team we offer insurance solutions to the life science industry with the main focus on Casualty, including companies engaged in pharma, biotech, and medical device products and organisations servicing these. We have a very strong footprint on the Nordic market, are well recognised in the industry and have many years of experience.

The role is based in Copenhagen and will focus on our Danish and Norwegian markets however as part of the Nordic Underwriting Team you will work closely with colleagues across the Northern region Life Science team and across all our business segments. 

In the role as Life Science Underwriter your key focus will be; 

  • Underwrite new and renewal business according to defined underwriting guidelines and local business plans
  • Manage the pipeline, profitability and risk of the Life Science business area 
  • Review submissions, price and quote business
  • Represent and promote Chubb to brokers.
  • Stay updated with regulations and emerging risks.

You will ultimately report to the Life Science Practice Lead North Region. 

Qualifications

Your qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate could be:
    • A (Casualty) underwriter with years of underwriting experience not necessarily within the Life Science Industry or; 
    • A Risk manager in the Life Science industry who have experience with insurance. 
  • Business experience from an international business environment is meriting 
  • The candidate must be Fluent in Danish and/or another Nordic language and professional level in English
  • Demonstrated good communication and commercial skills
  • Team player who is willing to work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Self-driven and proactive with a "Can do attitude" 
  • Proficient in MS Office tools and the ability to learn for this role relevant applications.
