Simulation Specialist for Mechanical Development

About the job

As a simulation specialist, you play a central role in the development process, and you will get unique opportunities to work with many different and challenging technologies. As a part of the Mechanical team, you are expected to work closely together with local colleagues in Hillerød and occasionally colleagues in Hungary.

The job involves working with your colleagues on the NPD projects by using your technical skills to help make crucial decisions and support the design of our instruments. Starting with the task scoping and solution potential, followed by execution and presentation of results, you will closely follow our projects and represent the Mechanical team when needed to ensure that the simulation results are utilized in the best possible way.

Working in the Mechanical team you will have many talented close colleagues with different skillsets. You will be the main responsible for fluid mechanics, solid mechanics and multiphysics simulations done at FOSS.

Tasks include

In the position as simulation specialist your tasks will be varied and include, but is not limited, to:

• CFD flow and heat transfer simulations
• Multiphysics simulations
• FEA simulations using Nastran In-CAD
• Facilitate contact and follow-up with NPD projects
• Data treatment using MATLAB
• Web App design and maintenance using MATLAB
• Conduct physical tests to validate results
• Present results to projects both written and verbally
• Assess simulation potential and best course of action when presented with design problem
• Maintain IT systems, software and testing equipment to suit your tasks

The candidate

You must share our passion for mechanical and technological development at a high level. You are committed to deliver quality simulations and communicate the findings. You are a natural team player and people like working with you because you have a positive mindset even when you are challenged.

The preferred candidate has worked with simulation using CFD and possibly other technologies in a commercial environment and has extensive knowledge of fluid mechanics and physics. You should see yourself in the following:

• 5+ years of experience in a similar position
• Strong theoretical knowledge of fluid and solid mechanics and/or physics
• Experience with CFD Software (Preferably Star CCM+)
• Experience with CAD. We use Autodesk Inventor
• Experience with MATLAB or similar
• Possibly experience with FEA software
• Experience with validating simulation results
• Ability to scope tasks, structure workflow and deliver results in a timely fashion
• Good communication skills
• English language at a professional level
