Strategy and Impact Lead, LEGO Foundation Investments A/S
2 days ago
LEGO Foundation Investments A/S is a new strategic initiative established to lead the LEGO Foundation's educational impact investment strategy, bringing together education-focused investment activities and insights across the LEGO Foundation to advance global learning and education.
Join us in this new senior role, where you will design, guide, and connect the strategies of LEGO Foundation Investments A/S with those of the LEGO Foundation, thereby establishing our shared focus on learning, measurable impact, and long-term value creation.
You will be reporting to the CEO of the LEGO Foundation Investments A/S and have a dotted reporting line to the Head of Evidence and Impact of the LEGO Foundation to ensure that impact measurement and learning evidence are embedded in all investment decisions, and knowledge is shared across our ecosystem.
A dual role uniting educational impact with strategic capital deployment
Working directly with the CEO you will act as a liaison between the LEGO Foundation and its investment arm. Half of your time will focus on shaping investment strategies and portfolio decisions that deliver strong financial performance and measurable learning outcomes. The other half will focus on engaging with the LEGO Foundation's wider efforts to build and share knowledge on what works to support children's thriving, especially when directly relevance to our educational impact investment strategy.
Your key responsibilities are as follows:
- Develop an integrated strategy for LEGO Foundation Investments A/S in close collaboration with the Senior Investment Lead, linking financial performance, learning outcomes, and societal impact
- Act as a liaison between the LEGO Foundation Investments and KIRKBI, ensuring strategic alignment, knowledge-sharing, and coordination of investment priorities
- Integrate impact frameworks and evidence-based tools into investment decisions, while acting as a knowledge hub and ambassador for market intelligence on education finance and impact trends
- Build partnerships with co-investors, asset managers, and thought leaders in impact investing and learning innovation
- Translate strategic insights into actionable plans, budgets, and KPIs, supported by high-quality analysis and materials for the Board, CEO, and key stakeholders
Purpose-driven strategist and collaborator
We are looking for a strategic thinker and doer to balance financial discipline with mission-driven goals. You bring a deep personal commitment to children's learning and education, and your collaborative and curious mindset makes you effective and comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, including internal partners like our investment team, KIRBI and the broader LEGO Ecosystem.
We expect you to have the following qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, International Development, Education, or another relevant field
- Extensive experience in strategy, impact investing, or investment management in an international, philanthropic, or blended-capital context
- Experience in designing and applying impact measurement frameworks, combined with a strong ability to critically interpret impact evidence to guide investment decisions
- A solid understanding of investment principles and portfolio construction, paired with curiosity for how capital can enhance educational achievements
- Proven experience developing and delivering strategies that connect financial, social, and organisational goals
- Familiarity with education, global development, or social innovation would be an advantage
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Furthermore, you can identify with the following personal qualities:
- Highly developed analytical skills and deep insight, firmly grounded in evidence and data
- Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
- A strategic, systems-oriented thinker who can connect capital-market discipline with mission outcomes
- A skilled relationship builder and bridge-builder across philanthropic and investment contexts, able to navigate stakeholder dynamics and build trust at senior levels
The location is either Copenhagen or Billund, with regular travel (1–2 days per week) to the other office. Some international travel is also expected.
