International Trial Lead - NSGO - Clinical Trial Unit (NSGO-CTU)

The Nordic Society of Gynecological Oncology - Clinical Trial Unit (NSGO-CTU) is pleased to invite applications from qualified NSGO-members for the position as International Trial Lead for a 2-year term (with possibility of renewal) from 1st of January 2026 or as soon as possible hereafter.

Role Purpose

NSGO-CTU is looking to onboard a Senior Academic NSGO-member for a pivotal new 20% position at NSGO-CTU as an International Trial Lead (ITL).

The ITL will play a significant role in advancing high-quality clinical research within NSGO-CTU, working in close partnership with NSGO-CTU Medical Director (MD) to bring scientific and strategic expertise to ensure excellence in trial development and execution. Together with MD, ITL will drive innovation, foster integrated translational research, and champion scientific progress across Nordic, European, and global networks. This role is instrumental in building and strengthening collaborative partnerships, facilitating research synergies, and representing NSGO-CTU in designated scientific forums.

The ITL reports directly to the MD and the NSGO-CTU Foundation, complementing leadership efforts to shape the future of clinical research.

Key Responsibilities

• Scientific Strategy & Development

o Driving and expanding the scientific vision of NSGO-CTU in alignment with organizational goals

o Identifying emerging research opportunities and integrate translational science into clinical trial concepts

• Protocol & Evidence Generation

o Contribute with scientific rigor in clinical trial design & protocol development, including experience in biomarker strategies and exploratory endpoints, as well as for data interpretation and publication planning

o Promote innovation in trial methodology and patient-centered research

• Collaboration & Representation

o Co-represent NSGO-CTU in scientific forums and international research collaborations (e.g., ENGOT, GCIG) incl. presentation of study results

o Promote, strengthen, and sustain strong relationships for NSGO-CTU with academic partners, industry sponsors, and cooperative groups to advance scientific objectives incl. for obtaining funding/economic sustainability for NSGO-CTU

• Mentorship & Capacity Building

o Initiate, develop and contribute to education and training initiatives for investigators and research staff incl. mentoring junior researchers and foster a culture of scientific excellence in NSGO-CTU

Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate who:

Has been a NSGO member for at least five years.

Has participated regularly in the NSGO-CTU Scientific Committee Meetings.

Is a gynecologic oncologist (e.g., medical oncologist, radiation oncology, clinical oncologist or a gynecologist with focus on gynecologic oncology).

Has substantial experience in the design and conduct of clinical trials.

Has solid experience in the treatment of patients with gynecological malignancies.

Has demonstrated administrative leadership experience including responsibility for budgeting financial oversight and staff management in a clinical or academic setting.

Has authored and co-authored original research articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals
