UX Lead

Are you passionate about solving complex design challenges in a high-tech product field? Do you want to help advance dental technology and improve the lives of millions of patients? We are looking for a UX Lead to join our TRIOS Product Management team at 3Shape, where you will play a pivotal role in both contributing directly to the design and development of our next-generation TRIOS Scanner solutions and leading a skilled team of 2 additional UX designers. This is a role combining practical UX/UI design work with team leadership and people development.

Key Responsibilities

UX Strategy & Execution (Hardware Focus)

• Lead the TRIOS UX team while actively contributing as a designer on hardware-focused scanner projects.
• Manage user research, usability testing, concept development, user flows, and prototyping for hardware integrated with our software ecosystem.
• Apply data insights (e.g. Databricks, Fullstory, interviews) to guide design decisions.

Team Leadership & People Management

• Mentor and manage the TRIOS UX team, cultivate growth through coaching and feedback.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and resource planning.
• Align UX capabilities and development with Product Management leadership.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Translate product roadmaps into actionable UX plans.
• Communicate priorities, timelines, and risks across product, engineering, and other stakeholders.
• Champion cross-functional collaboration to deliver user-centred solutions.

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of UX design experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or mentorship role.
• Experience in designing complex software and/or hardware interfaces - ideally within healthcare, medtech, or other regulated industries.
• Demonstrated ability to simplify complexity through design.
• Skilled communicator and facilitator, able to align stakeholders and guide design discussions at different levels.
• Skilled in user research, interaction and interface design, and interface development.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma).
• Experience guiding others - whether through formal leadership or peer mentorship.
• A collaborative mindset and experience working in agile, cross-functional teams.
