What you will be doing

As Legal Counsel, you will support both strategic and operational legal work across the bank. Your responsibilities will span five key areas:

• Contracts and agreements:
  drafting, structuring, and maintaining a full suite of English-language banking agreements, including T&Cs, account agreements, payment services terms, and onboarding documentation for our EEA customers.
• DFSA coordination and regulatory support:
  coordinating ongoing requests and submissions to the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority (DFSA), and preparing documentation for inspections and regulatory inquiries.
• Board secretariat and governance:
  assisting with the administration and logistics of the Board meetings, including the preparation of meeting packages and drafting of minutes.
• Investor relations and corporate matters:
  providing support for funding rounds, including managing the virtual data room, preparing investor communication materials, and assisting with general corporate and shareholder administration.
• Internal governance and policy frameworks:
  maintaining and updating of internal governance documents, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance across the bank.

What we expect from you

• 3+ years of experience, either as an Attorney and/or with financial regulation and banking.
• A strategic mindset and proactive problem-solver with the ability to give clear, commercially grounded legal advice to relevant stakeholders.
• Thrives in a scaling environment, with a hands-on approach to building legal frameworks from the ground up.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal matters for internal teams, external counsel and regulators.
• A collaborative, reliable, and helpful team player who proactively contributes to a positive work environment and supports colleagues across all departments in the bank.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken. Proficiency in Danish is preferred but not a requirement.

Above all, you are commercially minded, solutions-oriented and motivated by enabling kompasbank's growth, with a natural ability to anticipate legal challenges and proactively mitigate risks.
