As we continue our journey to becoming the best everyday bank in the Nordics, we are looking for a Backend Engineer to power seamless, reliable, and innovative core banking solutions for all Lunar's customers so that we can strengthen our position as the go-to bank in the Nordics. As our new Backend Engineer, you will be part of our Core Banking business area, reporting to Girish Premchandran. This area currently comprises a diverse group of amazing individuals working in Aarhus and Copenhagen who are focused on enabling Lunar's core banking business by providing clearing and settlement systems across the Nordics and handling all card transactions within the broader Technology function, led by Rolf Njor Jensen.

What will you do?

• Develop and maintain our core banking systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security.

• Work with distributed systems and event-driven architecture to scale our payment infrastructure.

• Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of projects, managing dependencies across various teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
• Embrace and uphold engineering standards, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Collaborate with a strong and experienced team, using the Scrum framework to plan, execute, and deliver impactful projects.

• 4+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer, with a strong background in distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Go is preferred.
• Experience with automated test cases and familiarity with monitoring systems like Grafana, Prometheus, or Kubernetes.
• A solid understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
• A proven ability to navigate ambiguity and take on projects with a security-first mindset.
