Job Description
Are you ready to lead the global team responsible for procurement of packing equipment to enable The LEGO Group to reach 300 million kids by 2032?

As Category Director for Packing Equipment, you'll develop and implement global category sourcing plans, manage strategic suppliers, drive supply chain resiliency, and foster sustainable solutions in close collaboration with key stakeholders across operations to optimize capital investments and total cost of ownership for this high-impact category.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the global team responsible for procurement of packing equipment.
  • Manage the packing procurement team, including setting targets, monitoring performance, and demonstrating strong people management skills.
  • Develop Global Category Sourcing Plan(s) and execute them, including global suppliers management from an End-to-End Value Chain perspective through Category Management Team(s).
  • Develop and implement supply chain resiliency and business continuity plans for critical packing equipment suppliers in collaboration with the business.
  • Develop and maintain a resilient, innovative, and strategically fitted supply base enabling our packing platforms.
  • Work closely with strategic suppliers to drive sustainable solutions and contribute towards the company's overall sustainability goals, including environmental and social responsibility.
  • Identify and pursue global opportunities, sourcing, and consolidation in close collaboration with key stakeholders in E&W and Operations in general, including global stakeholder management and KPI execution - Ensure benchmarking and continual market insight to secure that we stay ahead of the competition.
  • Ensure strong supplier performance with key indicators and frequent dialogues with key stakeholders.
  • Develop and drive a strong supplier relationship management program with clarity of objectives and outcomes with strategic suppliers.

Within CAPEX & MRO procurement we are global responsible for sourcing and defining the global category direction, including supply market intelligence, vendor selection and global contracting. We will drive this through strong and systematic category management on all sub categories (Moulding, Moulds&Moulds Manufacturing, Processing, Packing, HBW, Innovation support and Global MRO).

There is a significant value-creation potential in securing excellence and optimizing capital investments. Post purchase it is equally important to monitor the total cost of ownership especially through following maintenance, repair and operations. Sustain Momentum and Making way for balanced growth requires close collaboration across the eco-system. It's no longer just focusing on transparency about today's practices or about the footprint of the product, but on what the new value chain should look like as a system and how to get there at the right time with the right eco-system.

Packing Equipment is a key category with high impact on factory operations. Pre-pack and Final-pack equipment is key for packing our products . The availability and responsiveness of a global supplybase is key for delivering to Consumer demand plan , our Growth and implementing new factories as well as ongoing operation ( replacement and maintenance). Innovation of new platforms within the area is a key strategic priority for Operations.

Stakeholdermanagement within this category is amongst the most complex within all Operations, on SeniorVP, VP and Senior Director level.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Master's or equivalent degree in Engineering or Business Management with a focus on Supply Chain, Legal, or Finance, complemented by a strong technical background.
  • Strategic thinker with 10+ years of relevant expertise in procurement, project management, and/or engineering in an international company, including experience leading teams or projects; preferably with spend under management of at least 300 million DKK.
  • Experience in relationship management of strategic suppliers, including stakeholder influencing and management.
  • Experience with people management.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in global multicultural teams.
  • Contracting and negotiations experience, including knowledge of contractual terms such as IP and data protection regulations.
  • Knowledge of packing equipment technologies and engineering processes/WoW, combined with strong analytics skills to analyze spend data from multiple sources.
