Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Investeringsfonden for Udviklingslande Full time 60,000 - 80,000 per year

We are looking for a detail-oriented, independent and highly motivated Investment Accountant to join our team. This role combines accounting expertise with investment analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient portfolio management. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our investment operations and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

The position and your tasks

Investment Accounting tasks

  • Maintain accurate financial records related to investment activities.
  • Oversee and process disbursements related to investment activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Reconcile investment accounts and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve contracts, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of data across all investment-related systems and reports.
  • Provide support for audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and analysis are readily available.
  • Other all-round accounting tasks

Reporting and budgets

  • Support the Head of Finance in preparation of the monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Support in the preparation of the annual report
  • Support regarding budgets.

You will report to the Head of Finance and be working very closely with the rest of the Finance team. Furthermore, you will be in close and regular contact with the rest of the organization.

The position is based in our headquarters in Copenhagen. We are currently located in Fredericiagade but will move to Østbanegade close to the metro and S-train station in January.

The team

You will become an important part of the Accounting team that consists of currently seven highly qualified and experienced individuals, all of whom report directly to the Head of Finance. Besides managing daily transactions, the team oversees the reporting and controlling of accounts for IFKD and the funds managed by IFDK, and the entire department contributes to the preparation of accounts and the annual budget process. The contact surface is very broad and covers all levels of the organization as well as IFDK's regional offices.

In order to ensure flexibility in the collaboration between colleagues and to ensure that everyone in the team has the necessary knowledge and insight into the work tasks, we strive to share our knowledge proactively within our Accounting team.

In our Accounting team and the whole finance department, we attach great importance to good teamwork, maintaining our positive atmosphere, and having fun together. We help each other out, share our knowledge, and – while each of us holds high standards to our work – we don't always take ourselves too seriously, enjoy the informal atmosphere, and share some good laughs. We enjoy that also outside the office, for example on our team days (last year, we went to Tivoli) or during the annual staff seminar where the whole organisation comes together for an off-site.

Your qualifications & experience

We expect that you:

  • Have +3 years proven experience in accounting, preferably within an investment or financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and investment operations.
  • Have good knowledge of financial management systems, such as Finance and operations and Microsoft 365, especially Excel and Teams.
  • Have a high level of responsibility, independency and self-management.
  • Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Have good communication skills and good command of written and spoken English.
  • Are effective and self-motivated, and actively involve yourself with colleagues to get the job done.

It must be motivating and fun to go to work. Therefore, we take our time to celebrate milestones, learn new skills, and get to know each other.

Learning is an important element of working in IFDK, and we will support your personal development through training, sparring and by ensuring that you get exciting and challenging tasks and new opportunities for growth. When joining IFDK, you will take part in our extensive onboarding program to get the best possible start in your new role.
