Senior Manager Financial Control

LEGOLAND Billund Resort is looking for a Senior Manager Financial Control with a strategic financial perspective.

Can you translate business strategy into efficient and compliant financial operations? Are you a leader who can optimize processes and develop a high-performing finance team? If so, you may be our new Senior Manager Financial Control at LEGOLAND Billund Resort, part of the Merlin Entertainments Group.

As the leader of the Financial Control team, you will ensure that all financial operations at LEGOLAND Billund Resort run smoothly and efficiently. Your daily work will focus on delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, while also providing insight and analysis to support the broader business strategy. You will act as a trusted partner to local operations, helping translate business needs into robust financial processes.

At the same time, you will need to navigate a complex IT landscape with many systems and processes surrounding the ERP system. One of the main challenges in the role is to build a strong understanding of this landscape, as limited integrations between systems and the current ERP solution require you to drive clarity, efficiency, and alignment across platforms.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director Europe, you will serve as a key link between the resort and the European Finance function, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, driving process improvements, and contributing to strategic decision-making.

Your responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring smooth operations across core processes including P2P, O2C, intercompany, asset accounting, cash management, and R2R, while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accurate IFRS/ÅRL reporting, internal tax compliance, and timely delivery of management information.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and efficiency initiatives across financial operations, identifying risks and opportunities for optimization, including involvement in IT system projects (e.g., Netsuite, TM1, Accesso, Opera).
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, acting as a trusted advisor, while coaching and developing a high-performing finance team.
• Ensure robust internal controls, compliance with financial policies, and accuracy of financial systems, master data, and system interfaces.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement.

Who we are looking for:

• A degree in Finance, Controlling, or equivalent professional qualification, with substantial post-qualification experience in corporate finance or accounting.
• Proven experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis, preferably within leisure, tourism, or hospitality industries.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/ÅRL), tax regulations, compliance requirements, and commercial processes, with a practical understanding of applying them in complex organizations.
• Experienced leader of finance or controlling teams, comfortable managing change, implementing process improvements, and leveraging ERP systems to drive efficiency.
