About the Role:

A fast-growing proprietary power trading firm in the Central Western Europe (CWE) markets is seeking a Senior Algorithmic Power Trader to join their dynamic trading team. This is a hands-on role where you will support the development, deployment, and monitoring of algorithmic trading strategies across the intraday and day-ahead power markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and refining algorithmic strategies for CWE power markets.
  • Monitor trading systems and algorithms, identifying performance deviations or market anomalies.
  • Assist with data analysis, backtesting, and simulation to improve existing models.
  • Collaborate with traders, quants, and developers to optimize execution and trading logic.
  • Contribute to the identification of market trends, price drivers, and opportunities in intraday and day-ahead markets.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3 years+ of experience in algorithmic power trading, preferably on proprietary desks within the intraday CWE markets.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; familiarity with data analysis tools (Python, R, or equivalent) is advantageous.
  • Interest in algorithmic trading and automation in electricity markets.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
