The Opportunity
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform team and drive developer experience to the next level. You will lead a team of 4 Senior Engineers and report to our Director of Platform Engineering. Your team builds and maintains the tools, techniques and infrastructure that empower our product teams to innovate and create transformative solutions that make sports technology accessible to all. You will shape a team that advocates for developer productivity, focusing on automation, streamlined workflows, scalable infrastructure, and robust product operations.

What You Will Do

• Hire, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team, creating an environment where people can be their best selves
• Build and maintain the software delivery pipeline that every developer dreams about
• Champion ubiquitous and centralized observability
• Drive engineering excellence by embedding reliability, security, and compliance into our ways of working
• Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters at scale, ensuring performance, cost-effectiveness, and ease of use
• Contribute to the evolution of self-serve automation tools
• Provide expert guidance and support to product teams on modern cloud architectures and developer experience best practices

What You Could Bring

• A "platform-as-a-product" mindset, curating the thinnest viable set of experiences that enable product teams to focus on what our customers need
• 5+ years of software development experience in a high-growth environment
• 2+ years of leadership experience managing and growing engineering teams
• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure concepts and technologies, particularly with AWS
• Familiarity with the build, test and packaging ecosystems of Python, and Rust
• Mastery of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, ideally Terraform/OpenTofu
• A strong understanding of continuous delivery rooted in practical experience with continuous multi-service integration using pipelines, preview environments and automation tools
• A strong commitment to fostering a security-first mindset within engineering teams, with a focus on building software designs that embed resilience to vulnerabilities
• Proven strategies to embed compliance into all engineering activities
• A passion for implementing and utilizing observability tools and practices, including Sentry, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana
