Finance Business Partner

About the position

Our Finance department is looking for an analytical and detail-oriented Finance Business Partner to help support our R&D department.

As part of a broader transformation in our business support function, this role represents a critical first step toward elevating the level of financial and strategic support provided to the organization.

who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable building and owning complex financial models and crisp spreadsheets. The ideal candidate will embed themselves deeply within the business and functional teams, acting as a proactive advisor and enabler of decision-making.

As Finance Business Partner for the R&D Networks, you will liaison between different Departments in Cobham Satcom, in particular R&D, Networks and Finance - and report on the status of ongoing and future projects and programs reporting to the SVP in R&D & Networks and Head of Finance in Denmark. Overall, as Finance Business Partner
your job is to ensure that R&D projects remain financially viable and that resources are used efficiently to achieve scope of the project within the deadline and budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Budget and Business Case Management:
  develop project budgets / department budgets / forecasts and business cases / impacts of accounts to ensure financial implications are fully analyzed and understood
• Resource Planning and Allocations:
  manage overview of project resources and ensure resources are allocated effectively and spent efficiently
• Project Monitoring and Reporting:
  prepare regular / monthly financial reports that provide insights into project performance, including variances from the budget, forecasts, and financial health.
• Cost Analysis and Optimization:
  Analyzing project costs and identifying areas for cost savings or efficiency improvements.
• Risk Management:
  Identify financial and executional risks associated with the project and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
• Compliance:
  Ensuring that all financial practices comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Performance Monitoring:
  Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to financial performance and project progress.

As Finance Business Partner at Cobham Satcom, your qualifications should ideally be:

• Strong financial modeling skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
• Recently graduated or with 1–2 years of experience, ideally from a top university (e.g., CBS with a MSc in Economics/Finance).
• High learning agility and potential to grow within the company.
• Eager to interact with senior leaders and make a tangible impact from day one.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage considerable workload and flexible working hours

This role will be based at the Cobham Satcom headquarters in Kgs. Lyngby.
