JOB PURPOSE

Own the technical health and delivery of a product area by combining hands-on engineering with architectural leadership. As a 50% senior developer, you build features, coach engineers, and champion engineering excellence. As a 50% architect, you participate in the Architecture Group and translate high-level decisions into concrete designs, standards, and reference implementations for the team.

ROLE OF DEPARTMENT / HOW YOU CREATE IMPACT

Engineering delivers secure, observable, high-quality software that meets product and business goals. Within this, the Tech Lead acts as:

• The bridge between Product, Engineering, and the Architecture Group.

• The architecture ambassador inside the team, ensuring alignment with target architecture and tech standards.

• The engineering catalyst who raises the bar on code quality, operability, and developer effectiveness.

ROLE DIMENSIONS — MAIN TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

50% LEAD DEVELOPER

• Ship production code; lead complex stories and unblock others.

• Pair/mob regularly; coach via design clinics and high-quality PR reviews.

• Enforce the testing pyramid and CI/CD quality gates; improve pipeline speed and reliability.

• Instrument services (logs/metrics/traces); own SLOs, on-call readiness, and postmortems → fixes.

• Drive refactoring and the tech-debt backlog with measurable outcomes.

• Maintain team docs and exemplars: runbooks, patterns, and reference implementations.

50% SOFTWARE ARCHITECT

• Represent the team in the Architecture Group; shape target states and the tech radar.

• Translate organization ADRs into team standards, guardrails, and reference implementations.

• Define service boundaries, APIs/events, and data contracts with clear versioning strategies.

• Set and verify NFRs (security, reliability, performance, cost) via reviews and checks.

• Plan and lead migrations/integrations; manage dependencies and compatibility.

• Govern architecture docs and communication (ADRs, diagrams, roadmaps); track adoption and close gaps.

TECH STACK

• .NET (C#), .NET Core, Entity Framework

• MS SQL Server

• Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, Pull-Requests

• Visual Studio

• Cloud-native on Azure; containers/orchestration (Kubernetes) and Infrastructure-as-Code are a plus

• Observability: metrics, logs, traces; SLO/SLA/SLI thinking

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience: 7+ years in software engineering with 2+ years leading technical initiatives or teams (no line management).

• Systems design: Proven track record designing and evolving distributed systems/microservices.

• Stack expertise: Deep proficiency in C#/.NET and the surrounding ecosystem, across SQL/NoSQL fundamentals.

• Cloud & delivery: CI/CD, IaC, containers/orchestration, cloud networking/IAM, observability tooling.

• Architecture skills: API design, domain modeling, event-driven patterns, caching and performance engineering.

• Security & reliability: OWASP basics, least-privilege/IAM, resilience patterns, SLOs/error budgets, and cybersecurity awareness.

• Leadership & communication: Mentoring, facilitation, conflict resolution, and clear written design records (ADRs).
