Are you passionate about climate action, sustainable markets, and driving just transitions in fragile and conflict-affected settings? Join the Private Sector & Market Systems Team (PS&MS) at DanChurchAid (DCA) as our
Climate Learning & Market Systems
for Spring 2025. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to climate-focused development and humanitarian work through innovative partnerships and market-based solutions.
You'll work alongside a dynamic team engaging with private sector actors, public institutions, research bodies, and financial organizations to co-create models that promote responsible business conduct, green investments, and climate resilience.
What We Do
We design and implement collaborative approaches that integrate market systems development with climate adaptation, biodiversity protection, and environmental justice. Our work strengthens organizational and partner capacity, informs strategic development, and supports advocacy for responsible and inclusive green transitions. We also convene communities of practice and facilitate knowledge sharing to scale successful models.
We pay particular attention to the intersection of climate and conflict—supporting programming that addresses environmental fragility, displacement, and the need for inclusive green recovery in crisis-affected contexts.
Your Role
As our intern, you'll support the team in advancing climate policy and green market systems across DCA's global programs. Key tasks include:
- Tracking and analyzing climate policy developments and implementation across DCA and country offices
- Supporting workshops, webinars, and communities of practice on green market systems and just transitions
- Contributing to research and advocacy on responsible business conduct, climate adaptation, and biodiversity integration
- Assisting with project due diligence and strategic development processes
- Exploring the role of climate action in conflict-affected settings and fragile environments
- Engaging in fundraising and proposal development for climate-related initiatives
- Developing case studies and communications materials to raise awareness and share impact
Who You Are
- Enrolled in a relevant university program (final year bachelor's or master's level), where an unpaid internship qualifies for ECTS points
- Interested in climate justice, sustainable development, and market-based approaches within the development/humanitarian nexus
- Curious, proactive, and enthusiastic about working in an international NGO setting
- Skilled in research, analysis, and communication
- Fluent in written and spoken English
