Internal Communications and Visuals Specialist to world class science center

At the Novo Nordisk Foundation BRIGHT research institute at DTU, we create novel methods and technologies as a foundation for development of new environment friendly products, better and less energy consuming manufacturing processes, development of sustainable novel food ingredients, climate friendly farming, etc. In other words, we try to solve some of the biggest challenges in the history of mankind, and you will get the chance to contribute to this. 

Internal communications and visual identity

Your responsibility will be the Center's internal communication, including development and implementation of a visual identity. Your role also includes coordination of communication projects with multiple, internal stakeholders across the organization. In short, your internal communication efforts function to 'bind the organization together'

Overall, your primary responsibilities will be:

• Internal communication
  • Look for and select DTU news relevant for BRIGHT employees and internal news and events relevant to be communicated
• Write and edit weekly, internal newsletter
• Create posts for info screens and lock screens
• Update and structure the Center's intranet, Inside 
• Drive internal culture and identity based on core narrative in cooperation with the Center's management and the communication team leader
• Visual communication
• Develop BRIGHT design guide (logo, colors, icons)
• Build photo library and manage photography for events
• Prepare templates for posters and slide decks
• Edit small videos and visuals for BRIGHT units
• Be responsible for visuals in various internal projects
• Prepare and carry out workshops for scientists on basic visual communication for their posters and slide decks
• Develop and update booklets, brochures, posters, roll-ups and infographics etc. in cooperation with the team leader
• Ad hoc communication projects
  • Support and contribute to outreach projects (e.g., MicrobeXplorer)

Experience with communication in an international environment

You will be operating in an international environment with a complex stakeholder landscape and a lot of top scientists from all over the world. You will need a good organizational understanding to know who to reach out to in different situations and a good cultural understanding as we pride ourselves of embracing diversity. 

We are about to launch our new BRIGHT research strategy under a new Center leadership. Your communication tasks and the Center's visual identity will develop in accordance with how the leadership implement the research strategy and form the new organization. You will be a part of the Center's executive operations lead by the Executive Center Director, whom you will be interacting closely with during the execution of your tasks. You will be part of the communication team, counting in addition to yourself, a communication team leader and an external communication specialist. 

Overall, we are looking for the following in a candidate:

• Master degree in communication, ideally with specialization in digital media
• Practical experience with internal communication such as newsletters, info screens and intranet
• Ability to create content that fosters culture and identity 
• Ability and interest in being visible at the workplace and knowing what's going on
• High level English skills
• Practical experience with visual communication and design using the relevant software and an eye for visual aesthetics
• Interested in and curious about bioscience
• An open-minded, proactive and cooperative approach

Salary and terms of employment

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The salary will be agreed upon with the relevant union. 

We offer a position with 37 hours a week starting January 1st, 2026.
