Senior Finance Manager – Shape the Financial Strategy Behind STARK Group IT

We're looking for a Senior Finance Manager who combines financial expertise with strategic influence. In this role, you'll act as the CFO‑mind for Group IT - bringing transparency, governance, and value creation to one of STARK Group's most critical functions. Technology is a growth engine for our business, and your work will shape how we invest and deliver impact across the organisation.

This is not a traditional finance role. You will be the financial voice in a complex, international IT setup. You'll have a direct line to the Group IT CIO and a seat at the IT leadership table, giving you influence over major decisions and transformation initiatives. You'll lead a small, dedicated finance team and collaborate closely with Group Finance, ensuring that our IT investments are not only well‑managed but deliver measurable business value.

What you will deliver

As our new Senior Finance Manager, your mission is to make IT spend transparent, strategic, and value driven. Success in this role means creating a finance function that is trusted, transparent, and indispensable to decision-making. Within your first year you will have:

  • Delivered high-quality, accurate financial planning, reporting, and business cases by establishing disciplined processes and clear assumptions.
  • Created full transparency on IT spend, investment pipeline, and performance outcomes through dashboards and regular portfolio reviews.
  • Earned strong stakeholder trust by providing proactive analysis, timely input, and actionable recommendations.
  • Embedded finance into governance and audits with timely, data-driven input and robust controls.
  • Raised financial maturity in Group IT, driving transparency, accountability, and alignment with Group Finance standards.

What you will do

You will help ensure that we not only build the right solutions – but build them right, at the right cost, with clear accountability. With your small dedicated finance team, you will:

  • Act as the trusted financial partner to the CIO and IT leadership, advising on strategy, challenging decisions, and ensuring value creation.
  • Own the financial planning cycle and portfolio performance—budgets, forecasts, long-term outlook—while developing and challenging business cases for major IT investments.
  • Embed finance into governance and controls, serving as gatekeeper in project and portfolio management, and providing timely input to decision forums.
  • Collaborate closely with Group Finance to align reporting, cost allocation, and financial standards across the organisation.
  • Lead and develop your finance team, ensuring high-quality insights, scenario modelling, and proactive risk/opportunity assessments.

What you bring

We are looking for a Senior Finance Manager who thrives in complexity and creates structure where others see uncertainty. You're someone who can zoom out to challenge strategic direction and zoom in to follow up on project actuals - all in the same day.

You likely bring:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Senior Finance Business Partner, consultant, or similar role in a tech-heavy or project-driven environment.
  • Deep financial expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, and performance reporting, combined with strong analytical skills.
  • Strategic influence and stakeholder management - you can advise and challenge senior leaders while building trust across functions.
  • Strong communication skills, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-financial audiences.
  • Leadership through coaching, developing others and fostering collaboration, with resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
