AI & Digital Innovation
Søborg, Denmark
Are you passionate about optimising user journeys and creating seamless digital experiences? Do you have the vision and skills to align user needs with strategic business objectives across end-to-end journeys? If so, we are looking for a Lead UX Strategist to join our Strategic Design team in Research & Development (R&D) Digital Transformation at Novo Nordisk in Søborg, Denmark. Read on and apply today
This is a maternity cover position (10-months) with the possibility of extension. We don't offer relocation support for the position.
Your new role
As a Lead UX Strategist within R&D at Novo Nordisk, you will drive a journey centric approach to product design by connecting user needs, business objectives and processes across multiple (generally vendor-based) products. You will help us to evangelise the adoption of user metrics in driving data-driven decision making and mature our overall approach to utilising digital for our business transformation. Working cross-functionally with product leaders, process owners and digital transformation colleagues, you will define, improve, monitor and continuously optimise end-to-end user journeys that reduce friction, improve outcomes and enable interoperable digital solutions throughout R&D.
Some of your responsibilities will be:
- Lead problem and opportunity exploration: consolidate insights from user research, business process mapping and mining, and digital product analytics data to prioritise high impact opportunities across end-to-end journeys
- Drive the collaborative effort to build, advocate for, manage and maintain our critical journeys, ensuring consistency with our journey management framework and continuous monitoring of user outcomes
- Influence product vision and strategy: translate insights into clear priorities, roadmaps and key results that align with product and R&D value drivers
- Govern design implementation and evaluation: ensure digital solutions deliver intended journey and business outcomes through the definition of clear success metrics and continuous evaluation of deliveries
- Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration: facilitate alignment across product, UX, tech delivery, portfolio and business architecture teams to enable coherent, cross-product journeys
- Measure and scale journey performance: define journey metrics, leverage analytics (including AI insights) and embed reusable frameworks and tooling to drive adoption and continuous improvement
Your new department
Product Excellence within ADI (AI & Digital Innovation) sits at the heart of R&D's digital transformation. We are a compact, cross-functional team of product leaders, UX strategists, analytics experts and delivery specialists working to embed a product-centric operating model across the R&D digital product portfolio. Our mission is to remove friction from end-to-end user journeys by connecting systems, processes and people so digital solutions deliver faster, higher quality business outcomes.
You will be a part of our Strategic Design team and work alongside your UX Strategist peers in addition to R&D business owners, digital product leads, process transformation teams and senior leaders to define standards, governance and measurable practices for journey management. Day-to-day, the team blends strategic thinking with hands-on delivery: designing journey architectures, enabling tooling and metrics, piloting improvements, and scaling proven approaches across products and sites. The environment is collaborative and fast-paced, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decisions, stakeholder management, change leadership and measurable impact—ideal if you enjoy influencing organisational design and driving cross-product adoption of new ways of working.
Your skills & qualifications
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with the following qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years driving user-centric design, service design, customer experience or product development in agile environments
- Educational background in relevant area (design, digitalisation, innovation, IT or similar)
- Proven expertise in journey strategy and end-to-end user journey design, including discovery, implementation, communication and continuous optimisation
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills across global, highly regulated, cross-functional landscapes, with solid business acumen and the ability to influence key decision makers through the translation of insights into strategic priorities
- Track record delivering digital/service solutions in regulated, dynamic organisations, managing multiple complex vendor-based products and using prototyping tools (e.g., MIRO, Figma, Dovetail) — experience with journey tools (TheyDo) is a plus
- Familiarity with (generative) AI and human-in-the-loop UX methods, as well as hands-on experience validating concepts through experiments and product analytics is a plus
