Would you like to join the Element Design Team to design, develop and deliver new LEGO Pieces (Elements), Innovative Play Functions, World Building Details and exciting new Play Experiences, across our new and existing product lines?

Core Responsibilities- As a LEGO Element Designer, you will collaborate closely with Concept, Product, and Engineering Teams, to design, develop, problem solve and prototype new LEGO Building Elements, LEGO Minifigure/Character Accessories, LEGO Animals/Creatures and Innovative Product Play/Action Functions.
- Working with both "open ended" and "closed" design briefs, to explore, sketch (2D/3D), concept, visualize (Render/Illustrate), and prototype, pitch ideas and 3D solutions within a wide variety of LEGO Product Teams.
- Translating refined concept art, loose sketches and photo reference into 3D Designs and develop and mature designs for handover to technical Engineering, Molding and Production Teams.
- Facilitating communication with all partners and collaborators to ensure a smooth design process.
- Balancing innovation, system in play, design for manufacturing and deliverables.

Our LEGO DESiGN organization consists of a dynamic, creative, and collaborative culture. No two projects are the same, and they all require different needs and expertise.
Element Design is a key department in the development of new LEGO elements (building bricks, animals, wigs, etc.), playing a pivotal role in the intersection of design for aesthetics, design for play and design for manufacturing. Here, success is always a team sport, bridging the projects shaping our different play experiences with our outstanding engineering and manufacturing teams.
This department is delivering tangible innovation in the form of new LEGO Elements, and we are responsible for designing hundreds of new ones for our portfolio each year
Do you have what it takes?The ideal candidate holds an education or background in 3D Design (or similar) and has some knowledge of Injection Molding and Design for Manufacture Pipelines.
To excel in this role requires a strong 3Dimensional Design skillset (Digital and Traditional). Experience with both Sculpting and Hard Surface modeling tools (ZBrush/Geomagic Freeform - Rhino and NX), and a good understanding of 3D modeling methods (Eg. Surface, Solid, Poly, Sub D, Parametric, Sculpture and Retopology) would be a highly advantageous.
A passion for toy design, a childlike imagination, good visual problem solving and strong 2D/3D visual communication skills are recommended. Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Ilustrator, Keyshot or Blender Cycles/Eevee is a plus.
