Accounting & Reporting Manager

In November 2022, Swedish Match was acquired by the multinational tobacco company, Philip Morris International (PMI). Following this strategic acquisition, the Danish Finance department has been restructured into two distinct areas: Accounting and Operations Finance. This change has been implemented to accommodate the increased complexity of the organization and to ensure a continued high level of quality and accuracy in financial reporting. As a result, Swedish Match Denmark is now looking for an experienced and detail-oriented accounting professional to take on this newly established role as Accounting Manager and play a central part in shaping the future of the finance function.

Key financial role with international collaboration

As Accounting Manager, you will lead and oversee all accounting and reporting activities for Swedish Match Denmark, ensuring compliance with local and international standards. You will manage daily accounting operations, including bank accounts, Accounts Receivables (mainly intercompany), assisting with the Accounts Payable process, reconciliation and controlling of costs and expenses related to payroll and T&E, VAT and Excise duties filings and report monthly to group finance, while also driving process improvements and maintaining strong internal controls. Your role will be pivotal in delivering accurate financial insights to support business decisions, working closely with the finance team in Stockholm and collaborating with PMI's global finance function.

Experienced accounting professional with a strong compliance mindset

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, and compliance, ideally within an international company. You may currently be working in auditing, where you have gained expertise in financial controls, VAT, and statutory reporting, and are now looking to transition into a corporate leadership role. Alternatively, you might already be in a similar position, seeking a new challenge in a dynamic, matrixed organization with significant growth opportunities.

Furthermore, you have a strong understanding of Danish accounting principles, Danish tax and VAT regulations, and financial processes, combined with hands-on experience using ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365).

Your structured approach and ability to manage multiple priorities make you a reliable colleague, while your analytical mindset allows you to identify efficiencies and drive continuous improvement.
