About the role

We are looking for a structured and dedicated Crewing Coordinator to join our team in Svendborg for a parental leave cover, starting 1 January 2026 and expected to last for approximately one year. In this role, you will support the Crewing Manager for Cluster Scandinavia with the administration, planning, and coordination of our crews across Denmark, Germany, and Sweden. We currently operate 32 tugs with more than 220 seafarers.

You will play a key role in the daily operations, focusing on maintaining accurate data in our systems, following up on manning plans, coordinating training activities, and supporting recruitment efforts – both for experienced seafarers and new talents from maritime academies and universities.

This is a position for someone who thrives in a dynamic work environment, takes responsibility, and performs well in a small, supportive team. You don't need an extensive academic background – what matters most is your drive, structured mindset, and eagerness to learn. If you have experience from a shipping company, logistics, HR, or another field where planning and people are at the core, you are already off to a great start.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and coordination of crewing for vessels in Denmark, Germany, and Sweden.

  • Assist with administration related to employment, certificates, and qualifications.

  • Support payroll and personnel administration, as well as travel arrangements.

  • Coordinate and follow up on training activities for our crew – including captains, chief engineers, officers, and deckhands.

  • Collaborate with maritime academies, schools, and universities on internships and future recruitment.

  • Participate in events and initiatives that promote Svitzer as an attractive employer in the maritime industry.

Who You Are

  • A positive, solution-oriented person who enjoys working in a dynamic environment.

  • Experienced in administration, planning, or customer interaction – and aware that structure and a good sense of humour go hand in hand.

  • Strong IT skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Proficient in Danish and English – Swedish language skills are an advantage.

  • Interested in the maritime industry and the people who keep it running.

We are looking for a team player who takes responsibility, works independently, and is not afraid to take on new challenges. If you are someone who enjoys making a difference and can keep an overview even in busy times, you will fit right in with us.

What We Offer

At Svitzer, you will become part of a global organisation with a strong local presence. We offer a varied and meaningful role where you contribute to safe and efficient operations by supporting our crews across Scandinavia. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Denmark, Germany, and Sweden, and have the opportunity to grow your skills within crewing and maritime administration.

You'll be surrounded by experienced colleagues who are always ready to share their knowledge – and you'll have the freedom to develop and take ownership of your work.

Location and Travel

The position is based in Svendborg and may include occasional travel to ports in Denmark, Germany (Bremerhaven), and Sweden.
