Ready to build the kind of data systems that traders, quants and algorithms can trust every single day?
We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data Foundation team in Market Trading. If you're motivated by building real-time data pipelines, ensuring rock-solid data quality, and working with high-volume, high-impact data, keep reading.
In Market Trading, we rely on data that is always available, accurate and timely. It's the backbone of fast decision-making, modelling and execution. As a Data Engineer, you will help shape the solid data infrastructure that enables this. Your work ensures we have trustworthy, high-quality data that the entire organisation can depend on.
DIVE INTO WHAT YOUR DAY-TO-DAY TASKS WILL BE
In Data Foundation, we focus on delivering high data quality and a scalable, reliable infrastructure.
As a Data Engineer, your mission is to:
- Build and automate data quality checks that track completeness, timeliness, integrity and anomalies
- Ensure data sufficiency for key sources, including high frequency orderbook data
- Implement fallback mechanisms and safeguards to keep data flowing, even when something breaks
- Design monitoring solutions that follow data through every stage of the pipeline, from provider publishing to ready-to-use datasets
- Provide fast, standardised access patterns for both near real-time data and large historical data volumes
- Support data collection and transformation requests and ensure clean integration into our systems
- Work closely with our IT and Enterprise Platform teams to optimise storage, scalability and overall robustness
- Explore and test new technologies that can improve ingestion, storage and retrieval across the stack
JOIN A TEAM OF LIKEMINDED ACHIEVERS
You will join a team driven by curiosity and technical ambition. We work together to deliver the solid data foundation the organisation needs. In practice, that means close collaboration with analysts, developers, traders and platform teams. When you succeed, the rest of the business can move faster and with more confidence. This is the impact you and the Data Foundation team are creating.
LET US SWITCH THE FOCUS TO YOU
You're technically capable, curious, analytical and motivated by understanding how data creates real value. You challenge assumptions, think pragmatically and build solutions that hold up in production.
We imagine that you:
- Have experience in data engineering or production-grade streaming
- Have worked with data monitoring and ensuring high-quality data
- Have experience with time-series data and large, high-velocity datasets
- Know technologies such as Kafka, Flink, Elasticsearch and Kubernetes (advantage, not a requirement)
- Work confidently in Python or Java (advantage, not a requirement)
- Navigate complex data architectures and can take ownership of design decisions
- Bring experience from the energy trading domain (advantage, not a requirement)
On a personal level, we value that you:
- Bring strong problem-solving skills and adapt well to new challenges
- Work independently when needed but contribute actively to team collaboration
- Are committed to continuous learning in a dynamic and evolving technical environment
We encourage candidates from all backgrounds and identities to apply, as we believe that a diverse team leads to innovation and success.
Please note that this role requires working from our office location in Aarhus N.
WE MIGHT BE BIASED, BUT IT IS QUITE AWESOME HERE
Building on decades of trading expertise, we are one of the leading trading companies in the Nordics. When you join us, you will be part of an ambitious energy trading company with over 300 talented and dedicated energy minds. We operate across over 40 markets, helping shape a smarter, more efficient energy system by connecting producers and consumers – and driving the transition forward, every day.
You'll join a workplace that's dynamic and ambitious, grounded in trust and a shared sense of purpose. We grow by challenging assumptions, solving complex problems, and learning from each other. Here, there's room to specialise, to take responsibility, and to shape your path.
This is more than a job - it's a place you thrive. We know that work is just one part of your life. That's why we've built a workplace where you can grow, connect, and enjoy the time spend - both professionally and personally. From extra time off and great food to strong development programs and a culture where people genuinely enjoy working together, we make sure you have what you need to feel good and achieve more.
