Innovation & Community Lead for DTU Skylab at Technical University Hospital
4 days ago
DTU Skylab is looking for a visionary and hands-on Innovation and Community Lead to develop and implement the daily operations of a new DTU Skylab satellite and makerspace at Rigshospitalet.
This initiative is part of the Technical University Hospital (TUH), a strategic partnership between the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and The Capital Region of Denmark (Region H). Based on DTU Skylab's interdisciplinary and entrepreneurial approach, the innovation hub will foster collaboration between engineers, clinicians, researchers, students, and industry to accelerate health tech innovation.
About TUH and DTU Skylab's role
TUH aims to become a national powerhouse in health technology by integrating technical and health sciences to drive innovation across the healthcare system – from logistics and diagnostics to the development of new treatments. As part of this vision, DTU Skylab will establish a satellite innovation environment at Rigshospitalet, serving as a physical and cultural meeting point for innovation across DTU and the healthcare sector in Region H. With this initiative we seek to foster more resilient and impactful startups within the health domain, strengthening the ecosystem for health innovation in Denmark.
DTU Skylab is DTU's living lab for innovation and entrepreneurship connecting cutting-edge technology and science with an open, ambitious community where students, researchers, and industry partners co-create solutions to real-world challenges.
Your role
As Innovation and Community Lead, you will be responsible for launching and operating the DTU Skylab TUH satellite. You will play a central role in building a vibrant community, facilitating collaboration, and accelerating the development and implementation of health tech solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and manage the DTU Skylab satellite hub at Rigshospitalet, based on Skylab's innovation-driven and entrepreneurial approach
- Plan and execute events, workshops, and matchmaking activities that bring together engineers and clinicians to identify needs and co-develop solutions
- Build and nurture a strong innovation culture and community across DTU, Rigshospitalet and the other hospitals in the Capital Region
- Act as a bridge between DTU Skylab, DTU HealthTech, and the broader health ecosystem in Region H to support startups and research-based innovation.
We expect that you
- Have experience in similar roles within innovation and community building, preferably in a university or healthcare setting
- Are familiar with DTU and the Danish healthcare sector, ideally with a strong network within DTU, Region H and the healthcare industry
- Have a proven track record of planning and facilitating innovation activities and stakeholder engagement
- Are a strong communicator and networker, capable of building trust and collaboration across disciplines.
What we offer
At DTU Skylab and within the TUH initiative, you will step into a meaningful and central role at the intersection of academia, innovation, and entrepreneurship. You will have a unique opportunity to shape the future of health tech innovation at DTU and in Region H.
You will be part of the DTU Skylab team and work closely with the TUH secretariat. You will collaborate with technically skilled colleagues running the makerspace and student assistants supporting events and daily operations.
