Job Description:

Take the lead and make sure everyone is safe, both in the workplace and on board.
Make sure that ships always abide by the laws and regulations of the port state, classification society, international, and flag state.
Make sure team members receive coaching, mentoring, and training in accordance with organisation requirements and industry standards.
Oversee ship upkeep to guarantee seaworthiness.
For ship repairs and maintenance, coordinate with manufacturers, contractors, and service engineers.
Perform a risk analysis, taking into account the types and causes of significant malfunctions and losses.
Track operating expenses and turn in quarterly reports on the budget's progress.

Qualifications:

Eight years minimum of relevant experience under independent vessel management with respectable ship owners or managers.
Have either a Class 1 or 2 CoC and sailing experience as a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer.
It will be advantageous to have solid understanding and expertise with container ships.
Has a history of achieving operational excellence.
Strong ability to make decisions and handle stakeholders.
