Job Title: Network Support Data Center Technician – Level 1
Job Summary
We are seeking a Network Support Data Center Technician – Level 1 to provide first-level on-site support for data center and network operations. The role involves hands-on infrastructure support, basic troubleshooting, and assisting senior engineering teams to ensure reliable data center services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L1 support for data center network and infrastructure environments.
- Perform rack & stack, labeling, patching, and cable management (fiber, copper, power).
- Assist with installation and removal of network devices, servers, and storage equipment.
- Conduct basic fiber testing and cleaning using OTDR, LSPM, and VFL under guidance.
- Insert/remove SFPs, optics, patch cords, and loopback cables.
- Support IMAC and break-fix activities, including cable replacement and component reseating.
- Perform basic troubleshooting, power cycling, and rebooting of equipment as instructed.
- Assist L2/L3 teams during maintenance, migrations, and deployments.
- Maintain asset tagging, documentation, and follow data center safety standards. Required Skills & Knowledge
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN).
- Hands-on experience with fiber and copper cabling.
- Familiarity with data center environments and infrastructure hardware.
- Knowledge of servers, switches, routers, and storage devices.
- Ability to follow technical procedures and escalation processes.
- Good documentation and communication skills. Experience Required
• Minimum 3–4 years of experience in Data Center Operations, Network Support, or a similar infrastructure support role
