The Shift Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Critical Services Technician (CST) staff throughout the year. They will create an unwavering attitude and commitment of safety and reliability within the Data Center as they work with the SMEs and Facilities Operations Manager in developing a team of CSTs and outside contractors capable of achieving the goal of 100% availability. The Supervisor will drive continual improvements to the operation by creating an expectation of learning and development of their staff.
- Assist the Facilities Operations Manager in managing the operation and maintenance of critical and non-critical data center infrastructure, equipment, and systems
- Assist the FOM and Shift Leads in developing a staff of CSTs with the necessary skill sets to accomplish data center operations that deliver total availability (100% uptime) while minimizing risks for T5’s customers
- Provide field-level management and direct supervision of day-to-day work assignments and drive to full completion all assigned tasks.
- Support 24x7 data center operations, have flexibility in work hours to cover other shifts and support maintenance activities, as needed.
- Work with the SMEs and Shift Leads to provide support for data center emergencies
- Resolve all electrical, mechanical and Fire Protection System issues in the data center while minimizing risk and communicate issues to management and customers.
- Assist the SME Ops in a lead-capacity coordinating data center construction and commissioning and overseeing the transition from construction to sustainable operations
- Review results from preventive and corrective maintenance inspections and provide guidance on how to address issues found.
- Determine actionable items to address Quality Control review results.
- Oversee and audit the accuracy and sufficient detail of all completed CMMS work orders
- Enforce strict adherence to customer SLAs and change control activities
- Assist as requested with the enforcement of Data Center standards and policies.
- Responsible for coordinating and reviewing work handled by outside contractors and vendors.
- Manage site safety and environmental compliance by working closely with the on-site EH&S manager.
- Assist FOM, SMEs, and Shift Leads with managing facilities support and operations staff.
- Manage CST assignments and associated resource allocation
- Manage special projects as assigned
- Complete other such duties consistent with your role as you may be assigned by T5FM management
Qualifications
- 3+ years’ experience in mission critical environments, required
- Minimum 1-year direct management of shift-based employees, required
Technical school with an emphasis on mission-critical operations, high-performance manufacturing, or relevant operations, preferred
