Desired Candidate Profile

This role of PPH Officer will sit within the Private Philanthropy Unit (PPU) as part of UNHCR’s centre for excellence based at UN City. PPU leads on building strategies for continued significant income growth in the areas of private high and ultra-high net worth individuals (U/HNWI) which ranges from USD 250,000 to many millions.

UNHCR’s Private Sector Partnerships Service is looking for an exceptional Major Donor fundraiser with a solid and proven track record in fundraising 6-7 figure amounts for charitable causes, preferably in international development or humanitarian action. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, this HQ role is for someone who can lead and develop strategy across a range of initiatives aimed at private philanthropists and support UNHCR’s regions and markets in their cultivation and stewardship of prospects and existing donors.

The PPH Officer’s main responsibility is to support regional focal points across the PPH Network to cultivate PPH donors and develop partnerships with U/HNWI, Women in Philanthropy groups and Next Generation philanthropists. The PPH Officer will undertake functions such as supporting the development of strategies for major donors, U/HNWI, Middle to Major Donor Transitions, Women in Philanthropy, Global Donors and Gifts in Wills.

The incumbent will work closely with other PPU colleagues on global events and events in the markets/regions. In addition to this work, the incumbent will collaborate with Islamic Philanthropy (IP) focal points in the regions/markets on various strategies and initiatives to cultivate and further steward IP donors.
