Your challenges

As our new Mechanical Development Engineer, you will be located at our modern VELUX location in Skjern, and be part of the Drive Units and Controls team. In your team 12 direct colleagues are looking forward to welcome you, and you will be part of, and have a great deal of interaction across the overall Mechatronics and Digital Modules department with more than 50 colleagues. Topics are discussed in a casual tone and with a high degree of interaction between you and your colleagues. We have a natural focus on the technical aspects of our products, and we aim to develop innovative products and solutions in an informal and collaborative work environment.

You'll be right in the heart of our product development process, with unique opportunities to dive deep into all things mechanical – from the early concept phase over development, design for manufacturing, simulations, prototyping, documentation, up until release for production and operations. In short, you'll be a crucial part of crafting the mechanical modules that make everyday life easier, like drive units for windows, blinds and shutters including box build for electrical and digital products.

As an integral part of a cross-functional unit, you will team up with other colleagues within hardware and software as well as technical project managers. Also, you will be in touch with our Value Streams, Quality, Global Procurement, Workshops and Manufacturing.

In addition you will with within the following areas/tasks:

Understand customer needs to meet module quality, cost, features and performance criteria.Perform analysis, testing and verification of materials, modules and module performance as well as quality assurance.Construction in CAD (CREO) as well as writing documentation and providing technical project managers with business case material.Working with our prototyping workshop to make physical prototypes to test your construction according to requirements related to design, function and quality.

In this role, you will be employed at our modern facilities in Skjern, and you should expect to be 1-2 day per week in Østbirk.

Your qualifications

It is important that you can work independently and in cross-functional teams with many different competencies. You thrive being involved in all project phases and working in a project culture characterized by cross-functional work and knowledge sharing. At the same time, it is crucial that you are able to see things from the customer point of view, and ensure a strong alignment with your stakeholders. You are structured and detail-oriented and take pride in ensuring progress and delivering on time.

It is essential and required that you

have a relevant degree, minimum on Bachelor’s or Master’s level but could also be higher, within mechanical engineering.bring 2-3 years of experience from a similar role, possibly from a mass production company (this could be from full-time employment or perhaps from a longer internship).are experienced working in 3D CAD.able to clearly communicate and explain technical complex content to peers and stakeholders.speak and write English proficiently.

It would be beneficial if you bring experience from working with designing products or parts in plastic.
