Ostbirk, Denmark VELUX Group Full time

Your challenges

You will work within the aluminium production area at our factory in Østbirk. Here, you will be instrumental in the development and upkeep of our production tools through the introduction and implementation of new technology and manufacturing processes.

Spending the majority of your time on the floor alongside your colleagues in production, you devote your time to:

Communicating and cooperating closely with your colleagues in production, discovering their needs and learning all there is to know about our tools

Working closely with relevant internal stakeholders, such as Quality, Purchasing and Finance and of course other important stakeholders in the production. You will also be expected to work closely with tooling vendors.

Coordinating, implementing and testing new technology

Identifying, planning and realising improvements to existing tools

Optimising and improving production time as well as quality

Running small-scale projects utilizing a lean mindset

Your qualifications

With your inquisitive nature, you naturally seek out knowledge, especially when interacting with your colleagues working the floor in production. Eager to understand the ins and outs of our various tools, you use your analytical mindset and keen process understanding to find ways of improving these and developing new ones. Likewise, you are known for your ability to listen, always striving to find solutions through collaboration and dialogue. You thrive with a close collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders. You have a strong ability to build relationships. Through these relationships you get the information and data you need to optimize our production and quality. Ideas, information and data are not always found behind your monitor in the office, but just as often amongst your colleagues in the production area.

Moreover, you:

Probably have a degree in engineering, alternatively you have some vocational education, such as blacksmith, carpenter, electrician or similar, combined with supplementary training in the field of engineering

Probably have thin plate processing experience, aluminium, zinc and copper

Are cost conscious in your approach to the development of new tools

Have some experience managing small projects

Excel at teamwork

Speak and write both English and Danish, and though not a requirement, it is a plus if you speak German as you will be communicating with German collaborators in charge of mending our tools

Your opportunities

Industrial Engineering spans the production areas aluminium, assembly and glass. Our team consists of 3 experienced industrial engineers ready to welcome you onboard. We do not expect you to know all there is to know about our tools and processes before you join us – as these are specific to our trade – instead, we are eager to share our knowledge and experience with you, helping you grow into the role. Your eagerness and ability to learn is equally important as your experience
