Power Solutions > Applications, Controls & Electrical > Converter & Electrical Module
Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, Converter & Electrical (C&E) Quality & Tools, as part of Converter & Electrical Module.
C&E Quality & Tools is integral to the development and enhancement of innovative product ideas. Transport, Construction & Maintence (TCM) within Converter & Electrical has an integral part in conceptualizing, refining, and maintaining processes and tools for the transportation, installation, and maintenance of key electrical components in wind turbines, including Converters, Switchgear, Transformers, and High-Voltage (HV) Cables. Our engagement spans across the spectrum of new turbine development, as well as the ongoing maintenance and optimization of the existing fleet.
The Electrical TCM team takes charge of implementing business improvement initiatives, cost reduction strategies, and process maturity enhancements throughout the entire transport, construction, and maintenance value chain.

Responsibilities

Guide the design and development of tools and equipment for wind turbine transportation, installation, and maintenance Collaborate on various initiatives such as Design Improvements, Module Projects, Service Repowering, Design Maintenance, and Cost Outs to enhance quality and reduce costs Drive cost reduction and quality improvement by implementing standardization, modularization, and process efficiency enhancements Generate comprehensive technical design documentation, including 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, technical construction files, HSE risk assessments, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Design Verification procedures/reports, ensuring compliance with relevant legislations Coordinate and deliver Business Support tasks, overseeing the completion of work packages with a focus on project execution through SAP/ERP/PDM ECM systems Foster cross-functional collaboration with interface owners across the value chain to ensure seamless integration Ensure timely and cost-effective project execution, delivering technical solutions that meet quality targets


Qualifications
We are seeking an ideal candidate with the following qualifications:

A bachelor’s or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related relevant studies A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in product development and detailed design Knowledge of wind turbines, electrical components, and heavy lifting/transportation equipment Good understanding of Structural Mechanics Proficiency in mechanical design and specification adhering to relevant international standards Hands-on experience in 3D modeling and 2D drafting, preferably utilizing CREO/PDMlink, along with project execution proficiency through ERP/ECM systems Demonstrated experience in electromechanical design and compliance with relevant international standards

Competencies
We see the ideal candidate possessing the following 

A Techno-Commercial background, coupled with the ability to correlate design and technical/process solutions in the industry to cost Expertise in design for manufacturing, and preferably insight into wind turbines, including welding processes and material properties Comprehensive knowledge in Engineering Basics Competence in DFMEA and risk assessment skills Proven experience in prototype development and testing Familiarity with FEA, preferably ANSYS/pro-mechanica
